When comparing the prices of either cable or satellite TV services, I know that I have to check carefully for hidden charges and extra fees for services and tools needed.
In this section, I'm going to research and share the common service charges related to satellite and cable TV services. I will be able to make a final decision with this information.
Before I did the research, I had no idea TV service providers charge extra fees for HD access. This is pretty sad.
HD Service Fees
- Dish Network - $10
- DirecTV - $10
- Comcast - $8.45
- COX - Free (I smell a rat...)
DVR Service Fees
- Dish Network - $5.96
- DirecTV - $6
- Comcast - $15.95 (wow...)
- COX - $9.99
Lastly, I just wanted to tell you that only COX charges installaion service of whopping $29.99 for new customers and $59.98 for current customers. This company is a fail and yet, so many use them in my area. I don't understand.
Looks like DirecTV and Dish Network's prices are reasonable. And I'm sure they have some special offers going on all the time that waives those services fees. I saw them a lot on the flyers I get in the mail.
At this point, I'm almost convinced that Dish Network has the TV package I want at the right price. There are now some miscellaneous questions to be answered for the final decision.
